The program cost is $TBD. After you have applied for your desired program, you must make a deposit of $500 via Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½INK. The $500 deposit is applied towards the cost of the program. Program cost includes tuition for 6 credit hours, lodging, field trips, insurance, and academic activities. Airfare and meals are not included in the program cost and must be purchased by the student. 

What happens when a rumor, a fake image, or AI-generated content spreads before anyone can verify it? Why do online conflicts, including K-pop fandom disputes, sometimes cross national and cultural boundaries so quickly? Could these conflicts reflect differences in culture, communication, and the way people engage online? This course uses these everyday digital experiences as a starting point for studying technology, crime, and society in South Korea.

In this course, you will examine how technology is changing crime, communication, and everyday life in one of the world's most digitally connected societies. Using South Korea as a case study, you will explore cybercrime, digital safety, AI, social media, and the role of technology in modern society. Beyond the classroom, you will visit criminal justice agencies and public institutions involved in cybercrime prevention and digital safety. You will also attend a guest lecture on AI and communication and visit organizations that show how AI and digital technologies are used in public and private settings.

Whether your interests are in criminal justice, communication, sociology, business, or technology, this course offers a direct look at how digital technologies shape crime, governance, communication, and everyday life in South Korea.

K-pop fan? K-drama enthusiast? Food lover? Experience the culture that connects them all! Explore how language, traditions, and popular culture reflect everyday life in South Korea through classroom instruction and hands-on experiences in Seoul.

You'll begin by developing practical Korean language skills that will enhance your interactions with local communities throughout the program. From there, you'll explore contemporary culture through K-pop dance instruction and a guest lecture by a film director, who will discuss the history of cinema and how the Korean Wave became a global phenomenon.

Alongside contemporary culture, you'll experience traditions that have shaped the country for generations. You'll prepare traditional dishes, visit palaces, museums, and historic neighborhoods, explore traditional architecture, and participate in a traditional martial arts experience. By the end of the program, you'll see South Korea from a new perspective through experiences that go beyond what you've watched or heard.
