The 2027 Greece program will take place from May 10 - 14 in Lafayette and from May 19 - June 3, 2027 in Greece.

About the Program 

The University of 麻豆果冻传媒 at Lafayette鈥檚 Study Abroad in Greece program offers students an unforgettable opportunity to experience one of the world鈥檚 most historic and culturally rich destinations. Based in Thessaloniki, Athens, and surrounding regions, the program blends academic learning with immersive cultural exploration.

Students will gain firsthand insight into Greece鈥檚 traditions, from its world-renowned cuisine and hospitality industry to its ancient archaeological sites and living cultural heritage. Visits to iconic landmarks such as the Acropolis, Meteora, and Delphi will be complemented by experiences in local markets, community gatherings, and interactive workshops.

More than just classroom learning, this program connects you directly with Greek history, culture, and people鈥攈elping you understand how the past and present come together in shaping a nation that continues to inspire the world.

Greece is a country where ancient history and modern life intertwine seamlessly. Known as the birthplace of democracy, philosophy, and the Olympic Games, Greece offers a living classroom filled with world-famous landmarks, archaeological treasures, and vibrant cultural traditions.

Beyond its history, Greece is celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes鈥攆rom the mountains of Meteora and the ruins of Delphi to the bustling streets of Athens and the coastal beauty of the Aegean Sea. Its cuisine, festivals, and traditions reflect a deep connection to community, family, and the natural environment.

As a modern European nation, Greece balances tradition with innovation, making it an ideal setting to explore global themes of sustainability, cultural heritage, and tourism.

Program Requirements

The program cost is $TBD. A late fee of $100 will be added to your program cost after December 15. Program cost includes tuition for 3 credit hours, lodging, insurance, museums, entrance fees, field trips, and ground transportation. View Payment Policies & Instructions.

Airfare is not included in the program cost and must be purchased by the student. Other personal expenses include passport and visa costs, eating out, shopping, and entertainment.

Management Courses with Virgile Beddok

This course will uncover how modern movies, their stories, structure, and characters, are direct descendants of ancient Greek tragedy and Greek mythology.

We will attend Greek plays in ancient outdoor amphitheatres such as Larissa and Epidaurus, and also live theatre performances at the International Forest Festival in Thessaloniki. 
We will see traditional dances at the iconic Dora Stratou theatre in Athens. For a deeper dive into Greek cinema, we will visit the Cinematheque and film museum in Thessaloniki along with the Film School in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. 
We will punctuate the trip from Thessaloniki to Athens with legendary locations of Greek mythology such as Mount Olympus, Delphi (the Oracle) and the Acropolis.
