A New Academic Year. A New Opportunity to Move Different.
Dear University community,
There is nothing quite like the beginning of a new academic year, and this year is even more special for me personally.
Our campus is once again filled with energy, excitement and possibility. Students are finding their classrooms, reconnecting with friends and beginning new chapters. Faculty are bringing fresh ideas into their teaching and research. Staff members across the University are creating the environment and providing the support that make all of this possible.
This is a special time. It reminds us of who we are and why our work matters.
Thank you to everyone who helped prepare our campus for the return of our students. From readying classrooms and residence halls to maintaining our grounds, supporting enrollment and welcoming families, your work has been extraordinary.
Thank you to our faculty for the knowledge, care and inspiration you bring to your classrooms each day. Thank you to our staff for the countless ways you help our students succeed.
And to our students: This year is yours to make.
Attend class. Ask questions. Meet new people. Get involved. Seek help when you need it and offer help when someone else does. Challenge yourself to go beyond what is comfortable or familiar.
You are surrounded by people who believe in you and want to see you succeed. But success also depends on what you bring to this year — your ambition, your effort and your willingness to contribute to this community.
So, embrace every opportunity. Support those around you. And bring your very best to everything you do.
